    Hey dudes,

Need a little help. Had my engine cut out on me mid travel last night. Dash lights went dull then ignition switch wire (the thickest one) got really hot and started smoking. Had to disconnect that wire from the starter solenoid and bridge the connections with a screwdriver to start the bus to get me home.

What's the likely problem here? Bad ignintion switch? Or bad wire? Any help would be awesome.

    Cheers
    Scott

Got a chance to look at it after work. Seems like the wire from coil to carb shorted and was completely fried. No wonder it wasn't idling well.

Thats a bugger. I would replace all of the wires from the coil to the chokes and solenoids with new connectors which will mean they will be nice and tight, and you can route them around the moving and hot parts with a bit of wiggle room.
