    hi all,

i put a start on my 73 kombi the other day...i was sick of the random colours the last owner had made it....greens reds browns whites blues.

so im getting it back on track and sticking to a colour theme.

    -Lime Green
    -White
    -Black

i started with sanding back all the red house paint around the doors and rubbers. Pretty much any where that the trimmer couldnt cover.why you would put in the white interior then paint around it i dont know knore use house paint. sprayd with matt black all the visable metal or vents under the dash plus the around the doors.

i then got some kick panels from old mate down the road who seems to have a shed full of them. anyone need some ??

i ripped out the airvent on the roof that was sitting there looking pretty rather then doing anything..ripd off all the interior on the inside which was covered in cheap white table vinyl.

All the audio system and neons where in strange places so i spaced it all out.

also purcased a foam matress to fit on the bed bit. why is foam so damn expensive????

booked in on tuesday to be completely redone. floor to roof.

will have those photos on next week. SHould be done for Newcastle meet on the 12th/Aug.

I looked at the first two photos and thought it looked pretty good. Then I saw the next two I can see what you mean, with colours and the speaker location.
Good luck with the resto and keep the photos coming.

haha...yeah you are lucky i would have curled in ball and cried...it was funny with the front half i did....i used 4 cans of spray paint...and all that night i was coughing up black...perhaps a mask would have been in order.

no wonder i felt funny that day..

Man that is FANTASTIC. Has me wondering if I should move on from the retro (original) Miss Phantom has.

I bet it cost a packet just like the foam mattress.

"why is foam so damn expensive????" You must have got yours from Clarke Rubber as well - very expensive for the good higher density stuff.

Love the Interior - looks great!!!!
