Hi folks, I recently stumbled across a an old school '70's canvas annex. It was seemingly made for a Kombi and has the following markings:

"Camping and Canvas Centre 512 973"
    " 6 x 8 Kombi Annexe"

It has a wrap around style entrance and top clearly designed to attach to a bus.
It was picked up in Melbourne.
I'm keen to discover its maker and anything else I can about it. Anyone recognise it?

First decent downpour and the roof would collapse. Obviously fair weather camping only. :)

Actually, I’ve had it up in the back yard for over a week and it’s withstood around 20 mm of rain and doesn’t appeared to have leaked at all. It looks hardly used and still very waterproof.

It just looks like the roof would collect water being flat, but perhaps just the photo angle.

It's raked at a reasonable angle. I prefer my Freedom, but I just had to save it when I saw it. Would love to know more about its origin.

I remember a mob in Sydney long before I owned a Kombi & when I was young (48 yrs ago...used to go there with my dad!) that had a multi story building in inner Sydney with floors & floors of camping stuff that I think had this name 'Camping and Canvas Centre 512 973'. This looks like one of theirs. I think the Kombi reference may just be about the 'combinations' it may achieve. Hope this helps.
    Cheers

Did this building happen to be on Parramatta Road in Camperdown?
