My Autovilla has arrived and I am pretty excited and happy with it. This thing belongs in a museum. It has some rust under the front windscreen which I'm told is pretty common but the balance of the car is in spectacular condition. Underneath is all original sills, metal and factory welds and no rust at all (none that I have found). It must have been stored undercover and in dry climate most of its life. So I am planning to get the front windscreen rust sorted, convert the electrical and gas and take her for a run. I'll post some inside pics asap. cheers berg.
Very nice find,South Africa Import. Windscreen does sure need some work. Your garage needs glass doors for the museum to be open with your mail box for donations. That interior is a collectors dream. I would be to scared to drive on our dirt roads with that fine China inside .Well done
A great find Berg. The interior is in mint condition........retro..... but easy on the eye. You just have to make sure that the pineapple doesn't roll around and get caught up in the bedsheets.
Nice. You know you are on a good thing when your VW comes with a matching crockery set. I bet there's a set of Steak Knives in there somewhere as well.
Excellent addition to the garage! You will be suffering an enviable problem....... Let’s go for a drive..................but which vehicle to take?
Great find berg. I've never seen one but that's in such good condition you must have gotten lucky or worked like a b....rd to get hold of it. Got a back story for us as to 1.How you got your hands on it. 2.How many did they make? 3.Who put the Villa together? Cheers
yes its from Africa. Must have spent its life inland and dry. I love the crockery and cannot imagine how the set is intact, perhaps they never actually used it. just packed it in when selling?
Yes I have that dilemma every morning now. 505bhp supercharged mustang or 35hp kombi??? Kombi wins every time unless it's raining..
1. I was in the market for a food van. My guy in Jo'burg sent me various kombis until I saw this one. I had him take a look and he sent me all the pics. Too good to tear apart it will be kept as a camper. 2. i dont know. 3. Jurgens is the manufacturer, they may have had some deal? with VW for African manufacture? They are still around making caravans.
