I thought I might start a thread dedicated to our most faithful kombi co-pilots.....our dogs.
Many of us have our dogs along for the ride and indeed, as soul mates through our lives.
So, rather than sidetrack existing threads...( yes, guilty your honour.... )....I thought a doggy dedicated thread might be appropriate....let’s see !
So post up you pics., stories and memories of those happy faces you see in the rear view mirror when you drive.....
    Cheers,
    Mark

My co-pilot passed away a while back........but Bonnet was more of a “backseat driver” anyway. ;)

Ok so think I've posted this in another thread but similar to Grant mines a backseat driver - well you wouldn't know it from the picture

Kit Walker and Georgiana Darcy in the back of the 'velle waiting for their turns on the oval. I'll leave you to work out our literary derived names (well one's from a comic book, the other from a novel). To complicate things further they are also Ryangaye Lovin That Jazz and Braycharm Golden Gem.

But Kit and Georgie generally suffice.

When we rescued the above K9 - actually owner just surrendered him / put him up on Gumtree ...... I can't walk him anymore (she never did as she had agrophobia so never left the house) $0.00, & thus he has some seperation anxiety issues but improving ...... so back to names he came with pedigree papers - Hyonrum Theodore (Hyonrum we take was the breeder's kennels) we decided he's got enough baggage to unload with the anxiety so leave his name alone & Thoedore it is :D.

Kit Walker....that’s an easy one for me as I was obsessed with The Phantom.....but Georgiana Darcy..? mmm that would require someone who reads books and that isn’t me .....comics, yes, magazines, yes.....books , no.
Our first Boxer’s kennel name was, “Highwinds Hearts on Fire “ known to us as Satchmo.....god I miss her.....

We had a cocker that we rescued back in 1999. He was one of 92 (yes ninety two) that were seized by the RSPCA at Catherine Fields south west of Liverpool. He was about 8 month old, under weight. We named him "Phantom" for Mr. Walker (after Lynne's late Dad's middle name). So when Phantom left us in 2012 the new boy on the block had to be called "Kit".

Back in the 'velle. 3.5 month old Ginny aka Ginevra Weasley (red head) and notorious Swagman thread confuser with her 5.5 month old cousin Izzy aka Iseult (see Tristan & Isolde). Izzy is now in big school and Ginny comes along for the ride having only just graduated puppy school. Always dictating progress from the rear of the T3.

Our 1st as also a Border Collie - Belle (Mrs insisted on calling her Bella - reason behind name as it was Snoopy girlfriends name so I am told) got her @ 6 weeks .... a week or 2 early. Loved travelling in the T3 Caravelle, laid behind drivers seat or in between them - no photos of her in a Kombi or car but her favourite patch in the garden (scanned picture)

My co pilot for years, the departed Mindy.
I know I shouldn't have let her sit in the front, but once she had been there, her reaction when put in the back "What have I done wrong?" I couldn't cope with.
Willow happily sits behind my seat.

I think Crabs the cat is in agreement with her!o_O:oops:
He's definitely living up to the D'man moniker!

Willow in the back of the T5.
Photo taken along a skateboard themed table I have made, that will feature in the future in Member's Rides.
Willow actually happier sitting on the floor at the back of the front seat, which is a lot safer for her.

This is Burt :) just turned 1. She’s a German shorthaired pointer x lab + little bits of kelpie, bull terrier and whippet. She was the dog we were never going to get after having to put down our last epileptic dog a year ago today. We picked Burt up at the RSPCA a month to the day that Dyson left us and she was straightaway a much loved and awesome hound :)

Mark... I love this thread. :)

As soon as we slide Vera’s door open, our almost 13 year old Lab, Tallulah, runs over and invites herself to the back seat. Similar to our human children, there’s something about the Kombi that Tallulah loves...

Prior to departure for Bus Stop 2017. They always seem to know something’s up...
