    Hi all,

I've only had my Van a few months now (1972 Microbus) but already i love every bit of it and can't stop tinkering....

Im trying to see if there's any events in WA perth area, shows, get togethers etc....you know....get as many kombis together in one place as possible and share stories, that sort of thing.

I see loads around so there's gotta be some kinda scene i guess.

    Well, cheers

The Perth Kombi Crew are great, you'll have a ball.

Can't wait to see some pics of the MustardBus - has it got a name?

you missed it last night, 1st wednesday of every month, go to alfreds in guildford, theres a really good social scene. DOVW is on 6th Dec its in McCallum park opposite burswood.
have a look at the noh2o web site its a more local site to WA so stuff for sale is generally closer, and info on parts suppliers or mechanics is more personal experiance
    cheers jon

That link still appears to be a 'Reported Attack Site!'

Thanks for the info. We'll try to catch up on DOVW. Week nights schedules a bit tight at the moment. :(

We need new muffler and some minor rust repair done, any recommendation?

theres an old saying amongst classic car enthusiasts, "you can never pay too much for a classic, you just bought it too early!!"

alfreds was really kicking, about 35 vw's, ovals to new beetles, splits to syncro's, plus others (beach buggy, type three, T5, plus i cannt remember)
make a big mark in your diary for 3/3/10. see ya there!

To be honest Jon I got what I think is a ready to go camper with a smooth engine and plenty of clever extras (just the way the guy has it set up) for sub $8k, when I was looking at up to $12k (eg that Melbourne 1989 went for $11,900 and the muffler was toast). So I'm stoked.

Anyway there is $$$ for the van, and then premium for the love and the lifestyle:)
