Nailed the final route for this cruise today:).

It's very picturesque with autumn colours:D. Very relaxing cruise. So if you'd like to come along you're most welcome;).

To ease the way on the day here is the menu so there's no dilly/dally at order time:p;)

About 18 of us on that veranda on the 30th so far:D.

    Cheers

    Hey David,
Unfortunately, Leanne and I cannot do the cruise but would like to still catch up for lunch if that’s ok? Long story short, Elsie is not roadworthy and will be left in the garage, so we’re either using the Golf or the Honda.
Let me know if it’s ok we still join the group at the pub. :(

Sure is okay to join us at the pub @Elsie 76 . You're also welcome on the cruise in another vehicle;).
It's a nice drive with a stop at Allandale Winery on Lovedale Rd:) for a wine tasting &/or chat & park with just 15 mins into Branxton on Wine Country Drive.
    Cheers

Hey Craig, it's hard to believe that Elsie would not be roadworthy!

    Hi Team,
I’ve been doing a lot of interstate travel, Vic, SA over the last couple of weeks and Perth this week then other commitments on weekends prevent me from fixing the new lifters I had put on the poptop. I was hoping it would just be a quick changeover as I was replacing the whole unit, like for like. The tension in the springs is so tight that it takes two people to put the poptop down and I have put a strap over the roof to lock it in place. When, I release the strap the tension on the material is so tight it is starting to lift up the aluminium strip that holds down the material. So I need to remove them and put the old ones back in after I refurbish them with new nylon rollers. Unfortunately, I don’t have the tools to do this so I’ll consult a few KC at the Nationals on how to it. Which also means I can’t take the Kombi to the Nationals. Bummer, but that’s the way it is. Hopefully I can get this done quickly over the next few weeks and be back on the road. Anyway, I hope to see your smiling faces on Sunday. ;)

Hi Craig, could you replace the springs in the new lifters with those from the old ?
Would be a bit of dicking around but I’m sure that it could be done....
Glad to hear that the prob. is nothing major ;)
    Cheers,

What we recommend is only changing the 2 side ones and leaving the rear one if possible. The flat bar lifters are much stronger than the new tubular ones as well. You can reduce the tension by removing a spring from the rear lifter too.

    Thanks Kai,
I've been considering those options as well. As a matter of fact, the lifter at the back that I took off, only had one spring in it. I used the tubular ones as they had the lowest lift weight capacity on them so I figured they would be more suitable. I'm not sure how to remove the springs but will have a look in the morning and I might get lucky. Thanks for the heads up.

Update for all, woohoo, I took Kai’s advise and removed one of springs on the rear lifter and it fixed the issue. Thanks Kai. ;)
So, David, Leanne and I are back in and will be there next week meeting at Maccas, then the cruise up through the Hunter. Looking forward to it.
