Hi - it seems Australian Story tonight will be having a story on the Leyland Bros. The kombis are shown in the promos. Check the web site for the repeats later this week.

I watched it - what a shame they went broke - good friends of ours own Mal's old house behind the theme park they built.

It was very interesting, never know what happened to them. Best bit was them in the early days doing a doco going down the river. He said they kept breaking the propeller on the outboard. When you see what they were doing with it I am not surprised. I am also amazed their home made one worked at all.

The book of this journey was titled "Great Ugly River" in 1963. The doco was called "Down the Darling" and shot in black & white. The home made prop was of flatten cans & plastibond, which didn't last too long. They had to some new ones delivered.

Thanks Leo, Made me wonder how it could last, especially the way they were driving it.
