Stripped, phosphoric treated, epoxy primer, top coat under the pop top. Some rust holes, not cut and welded but they will last like this for a while. No structural issues.
Pulled out the accelerator pedal which was very rusty and repainted.
Pop top base next. Lots of cracking where the rivets from the pop top canvas attaches. Dremelled out the cracks and holes, ran out of hardener for the resin. Next weekend..

Hairline cracks over pop top surface were extremely shallow and disappeared with a good sand. Decided just to paint rather than re-fibreglass. 2 thick coats of 2pack pr250 primer and 2 coats of 2 pack poly U400 gloss white and looking a lot better!!

Have a bit of a Pop Art obsession (here is me visiting the Tate Modern when we were in London last year, to see Whaam), so designed this custom fabric to be printed for the bed.

Love people’s comments, bad or good, I know it won’t be to everyone’s taste!!

I love it! What have you got in mind for the curtains? I personally would not do the same as the R and R.

Agree. Curtains too may induce epilepsy.
Maybe plain yellow, or orange to match poptop canvas

Really interested in the internal tail gate release. I’ve looked around for a while to see if anyone has done one before. Looks great. :)

You could also match the blue of the cassette tape and it would tie in with your paint - the orange of the canvas is only visible when you have the pop top up. Even a blue and white stripe would look smart.

Very easy to do with the tailgate panel off. Could just use piece of cord and a key ring, but I riveted the panel on so didn’t want it to ever fall off!!

Also wanted a handle to pull the tailgate closed from inside and have bought this T3 grab handle, yet to install

Here’s a better photo. One crimp inside on the end of the S/S wire (behind the door release catch) and looped and crimped on itself outside. Will last forever!!
    Fitted the T3 handle today too 97878794-1A9B-4265-8C61-C8A8BFF0F97A.jpeg D1285465-48F0-4F46-95D4-FE773F77B5D5.jpeg 970DC362-E45D-4B65-856D-4D44576CA3E6.jpeg
