    New headlight adjusters installed

Borat was all floppy in the headlight dept.
I pulled it all to pieces, sanded and spray painted the metal surrounds.
Cleaned up all the terminals they were corroded and probably costing me a volt or 2!

Then the major expense, new plastic adjusters all around.... close to $200 worth.
However now they are nice and solid.

    Sook.:D

I would have likely done it to normal industry
    ( panel shop) standards.
Align lights . Masking tape to hold temporarily.

I have confidence in sika ;)

But guarantee is voided if owner tries to adjust lights .

That might just happen, because that flimsy plastic grill doesn't want to back on right now:cool:

Can someone with trakka poptop look at this picture and comment?
Do I have the gas strut on the wrong side of the bracket? The way I have it now exaggerates the strut angle which might not be good long term.

When i got Borat the 2 poptop gas struts were disconnected, the front u shaped bar had disintegrated. However I am lucky that still in this condition the roof can be locked down with the silver handles.

So my son and I reconnected the gas struts to see how it works without the front u shaped rod.
What we found was the roof will lay flat but has now slid about 100mm further to the back. It cannot be moved into place. The struts fight against it. If I disconnect gas struts then it will sit in it's correct place. Now i understand that this U shaped rod is critical for normal operation.

Mine are mounted the other way round. Strut to the outside.

And mine are mounted as per pic above with vertical section of bracket to the outside and strut inside of that. Who knows what’s right lol I guess that inside or outside the bracket would make little difference due to the ball joint on the bottom of the strut.

To add to the confusion, my brackets are different. Is this Trakka's evolution or someone messing somewhere via a previous owner. Agree with Dapom, the ball joint should cover all ills. Mine works just fine, and with a new front U bracket and mount bits, sits neat and tight when down.
