Thanks to the guys for pitching in at such short notice to promote this event - I'm sure the article in the paper will create interest.

I was asked on Tuesday to assist with the shoot, and did some feverish phone around to recruit a few more Kombi owners. We got a good range/variety of Kombis, which is great - as can be seen in the photos.

We got there around 4pm and the news photographer had to work quickly with fairly harsh lighting, but I'm sure the photos will be good.

We had Geoff taking a few photos and I had invited a friend of mine who is a professional photographer (Ian Barnes) to take photos for us as well. This photo is one of his, and when I get the rest of the photos tomorrow, I'll post them up as well.

(I've only put drivers names up - thanks to the kids for their support too)

Once the news article is out - I'll post that up too. Rumor has it may be as early as this Saturday's paper.

Thursday 4pm? The women were either working or cutting the lawn :)

    Driving a Kombi costs...

Yes thanks Melissa - got the KC stickers just in time, however when we got to Manly beachfront they had changed the shoot venue. So we had to drive to the next venue in a hurry - when we got there, there was no time to put the stickers on.

Thanks anyway Melissa, Geoff took 2.

    ..and the shoot went well

    No real intent there Don,

I did ask Dave to take part - he owns an immaculate camper, but his car is being worked on. Also there was very little notice that we were given, the shoot was on the Thursday and I was asked on Tuesday to see if I could rustle up 5 Kombi owners willing to do this, within working hours, and at short notice.

A posting asking for Kombis was put up on Tuesday with no responses at all, so the opportunity was there. I then had to do a phone-around asap.
Nothing wrong with T3s, it's just the way things turned out. If we had more time, and a committee putting this shoot together, we may have had a different lineup, who knows?

There are no SCs or DCs either.

    Cheers Frank
