Yes Wayne.......and why I did not move away from my bus when parked up. If some see that as anti-social....sorry but I'm not prepared to leave my kombi to the vultures, irrespective of other owners saying they'll keep an eye on it. It does not work......see it time and time again. Funny isn't it, my bus is no concourse vehicle by any standard........but I love it just the same, stone chips, dents and all Cheers, Mark
Hahaha!! Good on you Lorraine! People are unbelievable. Do these people not realise not only the money but also the hard work that goes into these vehicles? Would they do the same to a brand new sports car or just too stupid and completely inconsiderate.
My kids were always told "look with your eyes not your hands" and there was no 2nd warning, I hear myself coming back with the grand children being told the same.
Yep, good recall. It's the one I restored a few years back. Pics and story on here somewhere. Trakka have waved their magic over it or in it actually and come up with a beauty. I've not seen it yet in real life so looking forward to driving it home one day. Bronnie and I plan to do a 'lap' in it hopefully. Will be fitting air con in it first, kit sitting here ready to go. I drove my '74 kombi around aussie in '77 so will be a trip down memory lane. Wish I could of been there in Manly but couldn't. I was born in Manly hospital and lived on the peninsular 53 years! My 97 year old mother still lives in Manly and drives a 2000 yellow Beetle. Got to be Australia's oldest Beetle driver you would think. See you in Manly next year, all being well. Cheers
I would of preferred the The Steyne as well. When I heard were the place was this year I couldn't be bothered to walk up there to get it and walked across the road where a wide choice of food is available.
Here is that thread - https://forums.kombiclub.com/threads/1979-t2-kombi-trakka-camper.55746/ & a picture from Page 4 against Wayne's picture
Ok, this is the only photo I have. Mental note to take more. It is in her underground car parking in Manly. Taken 2016 when she was only 94. We bought it new in 2000. Thank you for asking.
OMG - tell her she looks gorgeous! Especially in her shiny shoes! I love this photo, it's made my day. I love to see the oldies out there and still living their lives. Sorry, I know we've gone a bit off topic but she does live in Manly
