This was in the local paper about the show..
The show, run by the Ballina Street Machine Club, catered for all categories including vintage (50 years plus), veteran (30-50 years), hot rods (usually pre-1948), muscle cars (of the 1970s Bathurst race cars) or late production, high performance cars.
President of the North Coast Street Machines, Kevin Woolard, said the 250 cars on display came from as far north as Bundaberg, Inverell and Canberra.
A selection of category winners announced at 4pm yesterday included:
Top Street Machine Show: Darryl Neilsen, of Cooroy, for his orange FJ Holden Utility.
Best engineered: David and Clinton Green for an orange XPT Ford Falcon convertible.
Top Street Machine Street: Damian Veness, of Boatharbour, for his 1971 Dodge pick-up.
Entrants Choice and Top Street Sedan: Ian and Jan Turner for their 1956 Chevrolet Belair.
Proceeds from this year's Show'n'Shine will be split between the Street Machine Club and the Ballina Volunteer Coastguard.
