    Yours plated as a 8 seater Mmm Interesting,my microbus is plated as 9 seater. Big difference in seats from your original photos of them,it's sure coming up a treat.

    Looks as though there is also the alternator cover / ring seal :)
    Cover @ 2 o'clock is covering the alternator belt tension adjustment screw ;)
    Also the air hose grommet from the fan down to tinware over the heater boxes :D

    Have not really got pics of the original cards but the drivers side was particularly shabby.
    Really happy now with the look of the inside.
    Reckon it is clean and original.
    Just need to go back to the earlier pics.

    Only plans now are the rear hinge covers need a tickle with some plastic paint and I need to keep an eye out for some driver side rear and middle window flippers.

    Can’t take the credit for the work.
    Really wouldn’t try and do the quarter windows. I did my 1303 doors years ago - but that was then.

    My mechanic mate Steve is back from Denmark so I made hay while the bugger is in Sydney.
    Hard to find someone you can trust these days.

    Why not give it a clear coat over the top, acts like a sealer to prevent any surface rust from spreading like a cancer. You can get epoxy clear coats or lacque or enamel. Although Lacque in a spray can from Sup/cheap would be the best ,at about $20 a can times tha by 6 = $120, that would give you a good solid paint job but still keep that 40 yr old patina paint look and it would last another 40 yrs .

    @chris taylor

    Chris
    I have spoken to a panel beater and he is going to give it a good old fashioned cut’n polish with a low speed buffer.
    Once that is done I will see how it comes up but I will probably hit it with some Anchor Wax

    Sounds like a good plan Barry. I just felt that it does need sealing to prevent the spread is all .
    A lot of people prefer that patina aged look .
    Well done Barry

    Are your flipper windows rusty,I brought individual external components in aluminium, they fit well and that's what I used doing my DC ute . The only component I'm not sure on is the frame that holds the glass, whether you can get that as a single component. Not cheap or you can get complete new units which are quite pricey . Depends on what you call cheap or expensive.:rolleyes:o_O

    @Wayne murray

    Pretty sure the glass frame is ok but the steel in the rubber is shot in one window

    Said good night to the bay today.

    Tucked it up in storage. Disconnected the battery and locked it up.
    Only just around the corner but I don’t think I’m going to get too many chances to take it for a spin in the coming months.

    At least it is registered and going.

    Oh well ........

    Yeah, gotta look on the up side.

    Could’ve paid a motza for an old Porsche or Ferrari and not taken delivery yet.

    Got about a 1,000 kms of fun in.

    T3 parked out the front

    Never know if I should post in “what have you done.....” or here

    Anyway...... jail bars were added today.

    I like them and I like the side ones
    The seat belt risers did my head in.
    I still have no idea what they do.

    Anyway - this is the finished product
    Spare tyre cover still fits
