    Hi All,

Just bought a blue '75 transporter from Devonport in fairly good condition as far as i can tell from the pics :) Driving up tomorrow from Hobart to pick her up then driving her home (about an 8 hour round trip) - hope she's up for it!

Oh, & I don't have a name yet so any suggestions......

    cheers,
    Toby

Welcome Toby. Enjoy your first trip in her. See if any names come to mind while driving or check the number plate.

Funny Joel that post reminded me of:

    "Hi, I'm [insert name]

    and I'm a [insert problem]"

Is coming from Somerset a problem that needs therapy?

Perhaps you two should have group therapy sessions for your problem.

Haha very funny Vanders. Well its not to bad I mean we don't have to wait hours in traffic and it only takes 20 seconds to drive to the milk bar :D.

    BTW Nice kombi mate.

Hi Toby, welcome to kombi world. I tell you, when I was looking for a kombi, all the good ones were in Tassie.

Hey guys - just got back from Devonport with the new girl & she is amazing! far better than expected which is always a nice thing - fantastic 1.8 carby donk, great body (has been resprayed but this has kept the rust at bay, lol) new yoko tyres all round and the suspension feels nice & solid. motor runs smooth & even lifted the front rubber mats & not one spot of rust!! very happy with her - bring on the weekend :)

1st pic is picking her up today & 2nd one is in my driveway

    cheers,
    toby

    hey,
thanks guys, be good to get out on a cruise soon! took today off & spent 6 (!) hours cutting compounding her then polishing to finish off - phew.. but looking heaps better - bit dodgy paint job (few runs/specks,etc) but got most of these out with cutting compound. also polished wheel trims & hub caps & the all important VW logo :) ripped out the curtains & several butterfly/leadlight sun stickers (u know the ones) pulled off the rear bumper & front air vent. i'm going to hone my spray painting/paint stripping skills on these before attacking the body. i'll post some picks tomorrow - just on my phone.

    cheers all,
    toby
