Hi Wayne, I have a late 74 say 75 deluxe bus, Flipper blue . Needs quite a few small parts to replace and bumpers need to be repainted. I think the white is Antartica white ? I have many questions to participate in the forums. Today I found two live wires from the main electrical box, fuse box , these wires were not connected to any thing ? All lights that I am aware of are ok , one was an orange and the other white and black strip ? I am up against small issues like this but it is part of the journey. The van has no middle seats but the back seats are original and good. I am hoping to some how convert these seats in such a way to fold into a bed,,might need an engineer to work this out, I would like to keep the original seat back seats. the list goes on, so will post some questions , Still working out this website to find the appropriate category to post a question .Cheers Klaus

So I'm guessing if I don't have the plate and no evidence of rivets or holes mine is not an original conversion but a diy using the sopru kit

Welcome Klaus. To use the original back seats to fold into a bed you need to use Z Hinges. Not common to come across in Australia - but there is your friend You tube -

    hard to say.
Sopru was a VW of Aust “authorised” camper.
There were many others. Some “approved” by VW, some just aftermarket and some home done.

I believe some Soprus left the place without a plate

Not so @BrianT . Sopru manufacture was a 'very fluid' process;):p. Depended who worked on the day & what they had on the shelfo_O. You'll see power entry change sides at random and many other minor variations including some having the sopru plate & some not or even having sopru plate not entirely filled out:rolleyes: etc etc.
    Cheers

Hey Roy. I am new to the forum. I had a 74 kombi 25 years ago regretted selling it ever since. I bought this one 1 month ago and absolutely love it. It's been restored and gets a thumbs up every time we drive it. It has all the history from day 1 and original motor still. Can't wait for covid to be relaxed so we can take it camping
