What a glorious day for a car show! Makes a big difference to most we have been to this year with it always raining...

Thanks to everyone for attending - we had a great turn out of 24 and a half kombis - how do you get a half I hear you think??? - there was a kombi trailer there so it gets counted as a half. Unfortunately I did not take any photos but there will be more added I am sure.

When it came to the awards for the Show and Shine - a big congratulations goes out to John (Kombi Capers) for winning first for Best Kombi and to Josh (jb4845) who won Runner-Up (although he was not there to claim his prize, but I got it for him). And for the Non-Kombi VW section, this was won by a lovely orange beetle, that I dont know the name and the Runner-Up was won by Rose for her lovely red beetle (and she was not there so I got her prize for her too)... although, if no one tells them then I have 2 nice packs by Meguires (wink wink)... just kidding.

Great to see everyone having a good walk around, I hope the BMW crew were not miffed to be hidden behind those big bulky kombis but guess where the crowd was mainly bunched?? They were all looking at the 2 rows of VW's!!! We are defintely proud owners of "the peoples car".

Look forward to seeing everyone at the Christmas Party on 5th December at Macmasters Beach...details here:

Another great day out - clear skies, and a good venue at the Newcastle Foreshore. pristine lawn area, overlooking the harbour bay.

I didn't take many pics, but there were many unusual German cars - some that I never knew existed.

Here is one of a 1959 NSU PRINZ

    583cc 2 cylinder.

I'm sure this was the car that Noddy used :) - but his had red mudguards - I think??

..just searched Google and found a pic. Not quite the same, but still mainly yellow, it has been a while since I read kids books ha ha

Great shots Geoff, thanks for sharing. Good turn out today, first outing for our Devon, sensational weather, nice to have an event like this close to home. As word gets out this event will likely increase in numbers in the future.

What a great sunny day for a kombi event (probably a one off).

I intended to take photos but my camera had a set of dud batteries so I just videod what I could.

Great selection of kombis there today as well as some very interesting other German built vehicles.
