Magnificent turn out kombi Clubbers! We have a personal best of 19 Kombis!!! was it the lure of nudies or my Mars Bar slice? We will never know... what we do know is that the weather was so dodgy that we probably could have expected more to turn up! Fantastic effort. Nice to meet some new faces too. Sorry to disappoint - I did not have my camera but there will be photos posted later. We managed to have every model from a split up to a late T3.
We started out with 7 (plus one Corrolla due to Ian not being on the road yet) leaving Hungry Jacks at Belmont North. We were then joined by 3 Central Coasters at Swansea which made for a great looking convoy driving along the Pacific Highway. Jay had already gone ahead, thinking we had piked out, only to realise he was early.
The flies!!! OMG - I have not been swarmed by flies like that for ages - they were really bad. Reminds me I must put aeroguard in the glovebox.
Lucky I bought 2 lots of Mars Bar slice - all gone ;) I have been asked to put the recipe up on the forum - not sure if I want to share.. only kidding, its the easiest thing to make ever! Will have to make some White Christmas for next month! Speaking of next month - Jay and Janine have offered to have our Christmas meet at their house at Jewells. It will be on the Saturday this time, so that makes it 13 December. More details to follow.
Thank you to everyone that turned up. Frank and family represented Sydney, but he really needs some company coming up the F3!!! Get into it guys.

What a great effort Melissa you are getting a really good group together down there. I will have to give you a smack for no camera, as you said others should have some to post.
I think you will have to give out that recipe so all of us up this neck of the woods dont miss out all the time.
Maybe some Northern NSW or Qld person could come up with our own slice, no I am not putting my hand up.
Look forward to seeing the photos

I didnt have a choice Michelle - Scott took the camera with him as he went away for a boys only memorial weekend they have been doing for the last 16 years.
Chuck is going to email his photos to me so I can load them up. There is also a big group photo of us all.
I will add the slice recipe as a "sticky"...lol..get it?? ;)

Glad you all had a great time - backyard blitz took precedence in our case. BUT Dec 13th is a definite :)

As Melissa said, what a fantastic turn up!
The flies could have nearly carried a couple of the kiddies away they were that thick!
Good to see more faces from the Newcastle crew too!
Thank you to Frank for braving the scary F3! (hint hint Sydneysiders)
A big thankyou to Mrs Greenbay for allowing Jay to letting him say we can have our Christmas Party at your place.

Excellent gathering guys! Looks like an awesome day!

Recognise a few them buses from Old Bar, and many that didn't make it.

I see that kewl white lowlight turned up, to haunt me in the pics.. :p

Gonna catch that driver "off guard" one day, so I at least have a chance of pulling alongside, before he floors it, to give him a Kombi Wave... :D

Thats Paul with the 3.3L Porsche donk.
You give a kombi wave and Paul will give you the Porsche salute--exhaust fumes!

Thanks to you all for a great day!
It turned out a big day for us getting home after dark after we visited my bother and then my sister who live up that way.
The rain held out for us and we certainly took over that car park.
Have to see if we can make it to the xmas get together next month. Can't believe it's that time already.
That mars bar slice was soooo good I managed to get two peices but ate less than half of one once the kids got a taste. If you put the recipe up Melissa it will be the most visited thread. mmmm making me hungry.
