Lorraine and Judy, our revered northern [ or is it easterly ] sirens. Along with the inspirational Xerxes, your mardi gras is compulsory bucketlist material. Not that I would denigrate Xerxes by such an odious comparison with monself...butttt...given scuttlebutt of 2013 Bustop in close geographical proximity to yonder mardi gras, what steps (if any) are being taken to synchronize a collaborative attendance / juxtaposition between the two. I am driving up from sunny S.A. and anticipate significant nos all making the annual pilgrimage. What a double header! K.C. members from all points of compass partaking in the parade. Works for me, but just wondering? Easter is 29 March - first April next year. I assume your festival is May, but is that always the case? Jest wanderin' John Doherty in Adelaide:cool:

Our "Tutu Fairy" was gorgeous.. He didn't think they were going to let him be in the parade because he had too many bits...

Sorry John I missed this post  MardiGrass is always held on the first Sunday in May as it coincides with QLD public holiday weekend. Typical Nimbin thinking as NSW does not celebrate a long weekend. :umm: Take long service, chuck a few extra sickies and try and stay around :D .

I have just received this letter of thank you from Alan Morris the Kombi Konvoy organiser.
The Konvoy has always and will always be Alan's baby and I am proud to be able to help in whatever small way he asks of me. As he once said to me 'I'm the ringmaster'

Alan arranged the parking/camping at the Rainbow Power Company. It was a last minute arrangement due to the wet boggy conditions at the showground and was a fantastic site. I have already had the word that it will happen again next year.:D

    Dear Lorraine and Andy,
It wasn't until I spent last year's Mardi Grass weekend in Brisbane Hospital rather
than Nimbin, that I realised how much I enjoy organising and running the Kombi
Konvoy and how jaded I had become about the whole thing.
However, this year I approached the Konvoy with renewed enthusiasm and had as
much fun as ever, so I would like to thank the both of you personally and your fellow
_ club members in general for your continued support and participation in what has
become a much loved feature of Mardi Grass.
Rather than doing this by a quick phone call, I want to write you a formal letter and to
ask if you would convey my appreciation to the members of your club and, of
course, to remind them that we'll be doing it all again this time next year!
I'll see you soon and, once again, many thanks all round.
    ~
    (Alan Morris)

thats great to hear lorraine !

always good to get a little recognition for the work you do for the mardigrass .

however , any praise is an immediate understatement for the work you put into the event !

you really are the stitching that holds the fabric together :)
    well done !!
