The arrival of The Phoenix has left Poptop feeling a little left out.

The Phoenix's Easter breakdown has however brought some well deserved TLC, and the smiles returning!

The roofs sunburnt and I am going to approach a local spray painter who's retiring in June who keeps telling me he hates Kombis! Probably too many paint fumes over the years!

The materials done after 40 years, the cushions are still good but think I'll replace them as well.

Blue Westfalia plaid. I had Mexico beige but decided too much brown.

Kombis do have a personality and neglecting one doesn't help what the other is thinking. The kombi in good hands and a little TLC like mentioned will do wonders for the smile to return.
Have you got a broken glass in the van?

I pulled old vinyl and carpet out. The wood was in such good condition and so well attached I'm going to leave it.

The edge on this image gives you an idea of the condition of the counter top.

Nothing like having a father-in-law who only has daughters and yearns to get hi hands dirty!

I cleaned under the cupboard and wardrobe space dusty but no rust. I then coated it with Penetrol.

I can't undo the tap - any suggestions how to loosen it up? Otherwise I'll just by a new one.

Might have to keep this base from the jump seat.

I met an engineer at Day of the VW. Showed me his set up. Emailed me drawing. Both wives chatted. Finally worked up the courage to drill into the metal.

Need to get this cracked window replaced. I've had tape on it for a decade. Looked like something out of an Xfiles episode.
