“Substitute Tassie Trip” may be making it a bit hard for the Apple Isle to live up to............just saying !
Tassie does has alot to live up to when we next go there!! Had a massive day today, stayed around at mungo for another sunset tour that just came about with an indigenous elder so didnt leave till after sunset yesterday, drove till midnight about 150k on corregations and just camped roadside. After amazing sunrise on a clay pan this morning (pics attached) about 50k out of Ivanhoe we the drove about 500k through hillston, lake Cargelligo, condobolin and forbes to Canowindra, where we are now in an amazing airbnb overlooking the valley
It's our 30th Wedding Anniversary today.....we made it through it all, married at 21, 4 awesome kids (2 with kombi's so far) all the highs and lows of 30 years and such an amazing trip to navigate as we celebrate. This pic is of our original kombi with original wife just after we were married 1991......the journey continues
Congratulation's on your 30th wedding anniversary, hope you have many more. Enjoy it the best way you know how.
Originals are hard to beat...............Happy Anniversary. What a great trip to celebrate..............Cheers
Congratulations to you both. What an awesome way to celebrate your lives together........on a road trip and in a kombi. We’ll tick over 40 years together this year and would love to think we could celebrate in a similar style. Cheers, Mark
My respect goes to anyone who is a teacher. (within limits, of course there are some who shouldn't teach too.)
Congratulations on your Anniversary and many more to follow, an awesome trip with lots of memories & beautiful photos.Thank you for sharing.
Hey all, I've been a bit slack in recent days and had several with no reception. Currently sitting in the pub in Kangaroo Valley writing after some paddle boarding on the Kangaroo river We had a fantastic couple of days in Canowindra, would highly recommend it for a weekend trip. Cath was organising a hamper for our anniversary dinner and the local lady who did them (the bush goddess) couldn't do one that day so she just invited us to her home for dinner, she said her grandaughter would be with her, all good, we went, the neighbours came too who also owned the winery her house was on, before you know it its midnight, much wine enjoyed and conversations had, got invited back for breakfast, the most lovely people!! Had one nights camp at Abercrombie caves on the way through Another beautiful camp by the creek and then arrived yesterday in Kangaroo valley where we have another airbnb for 2 nights. Reluctantly heading home tomorrow.
The winery at Canowindra is Rosnay https://rosnay.com.au/ , all organic wines and the guys on the website (Sam and Sammy) and their 3 daughters are who we had dinner with, keen to get back and catch up with them again soon!!
Teaching is gone for me. As a result of a false allegation of "Gross Physical Violence". That l didn't do it was inconsequential to the NSW's Education Dept Stasi.
