It’s not the added (excessive) cost...... it’s just that they are headed that way for two weeks in September, then home for 7 days, before being stashed away Again for the long weekend.

I dare say they’ll be “Not Happy, Jan!!!” o_O

Will do Mark. Cant help that - they are cuddly creatures.

Hopefully the surf is good to take your mind off it.

Tough one at this late stage.......

Get online and see what’s available / cancellations, or look at the Forster or Taree area, which is not too far to drive to Old bar on the Sat and Sun.

Most accommodation is booked up 6-7 months ahead, and many regulars book as they leave the year before, so 12 months ahead.

Really need it sorted before you head there.

last year 4 of my old kombis I used to own were there so I might see if I can get a linup shot of them all together with my splitty just for the fun of it as its the only time this could happen is at old bar.
So that picture would have a 75 single cab ute, 69 lowie, 71 deluxe lowie, 77 deluxe microbus and my 62 splitscreen in it.

We are still on the waiting list with Lanis, and suspect we are not alone. I will probably join the small band of 'waiting-list' campers who will be clump-parked behind some service station for the weekend like a flock of lost sea-gulls.
We tried booking camping space under Kav/ Kerry's awning off the LuvBus but they still haven't replied (maybe we are on the waiting list )
Either way, we still plan to make the journey. It should make for a good Travel Blog at the least.

Just turn up, they always release a bunch of unpowered spots, also they allow you to share sites if you can fit on someone elses site but best to ask that question when you are there standing in the office.

Bindi is coming to Old Bar. Her last weekend out before restoration. I got a 1 bedroom unit at Manning Point. She won't be very decorated though, or polished, but she will be there. Next year we might be camping...... if I book early enough.

Just to put a minor damper on things (or make things damp). The 28 day rain forecast is...

"Over southern and eastern Australia the cold front events with potential to bring widespread rain are now expected about 21 September to 25 September, 27 September to 1 October, and 4 October to 8 October."
