We’ll be there again ✌
We are leaving Brisbane Thursday morning and taking leisurely coastal drive , arriving old bar Friday sometime.
Anyone heading that way, give us a toot and tag along
So the fun starts pretty damn soon at Old Bar 2019 .. yes!
I'm relying on Scott to arrange fine weather!
My latest count of known syncros attending is a very encouraging EIGHT beasts! There's sure to be even more, in particular those who aren't members of Kombi Club etc .. just as there was last year. I think I counted around 12-14 syncros for 2018.
So my question is ... aside from Scott, Gerald and myself already confirmed, are there any other syncros on here who are also going? Be handy to know who to expect and link up with, particularly on the Saturday pm tagalong to Taree and/or the Sunday muster.
Anyone else here, please chime in? Ta. Cheers.
Latest forecast looks a bit nasty for camping with showers Thursday, fine Friday, showers Saturday, rain Sunday and nice an sunny on Monday.
I'm going regardless and I have noticed this far out that the forecast changes daily.
You will be tucked in a nice comfy bus, you will be fine.
Looks like I am in a tent again. Haha. And a non VW. Got it running, but not right just yet. Still want to come and hang out with you lovely folk though.
See you there Brad!
We'll be camping at Evans Head prior and heading down to Old Bar on the Friday too, might see you on the road!!
Each year I’ve attended, I always need sunscreen........
But I’m not going to be there, this year.
Anyone cruising to old bar from Bulli/ Wollongong?
I aim to leave around 1pm.
Hi Jenny, you might want to add the day you plan on leaving.......
Weather forecasts are changing by the day - still too far away to be accurate...
Don't Jinx us Scotty.
Count me in with my 1988 syncro
Ahhhh, I see you just opened the email.....
Wasn’t sure if everyone, especially the “first timers”, would have got the email......
Good idea to post it mate.....lots of folks probably aren’t aware of how great an event this is..
And of course, there is always the walk n beers around Lani’s .....an ongoing event in itself
Day trippers from the lower hunter or central coast. We will be meeting at the 12 mile rest stop north of Raymond Terrace around 6:30am. Thank doG Monday is a holiday!
Thanks for alerting us to the program now being available, especially for 1st timers ... happily this one earlier this year than 2018, so that's nice.
For anyone who'd like one, attached is a pdf file to download, print and bring along, showing Program plus Festival layout plan.
Hi Craig and all other syncronutters,
Thanks for your response to my previous post.
Much the same as we did last year, may I suggest that yourself and all other syncros attending might like to take the opportunity to meet & greet with fellow syncro owners during the course of the Festival.
1st opp would be the kombi tagalong on Saturday to East Taree and return, all kombis assembling on the airstrip from say 3.30pm, departing 4.10pm as per Festival program. Make a separate line on the airstrip ... expect there'll be quite a few lines!
2nd opp would be for all of us to assemble on Sunday from 8am on the parking space outside the entry gate to the oval, then enter and park as a group at say 8.30am. I believe we managed upwards of 13-14 syncros last year, hoping to do better this time round.
Remember we lose an hours sleep with daylight saving commencing 2am Sunday morning ... set clocks back before bedtime.
Scott, the weathers looking pretty damn good at the moment for the Festival ... as you say, forecast does continue to change day to day. Cross fingers!
