What can I say. It's Sunday morning at oldbar the kombis are starring to assemble and ..... It's raining
We are flooded as well, hopefully the tent will be able to cope with these winds and driving rain! Everyone around us is packing up and leaving. As Bernie said, its pretty horrird weather, worst weather that I have ever seen at Old Bar.
just got home near had to steal some blokes outboard motor and put on the back of the kombi just so i could get home ! that and the fact that it was so damn dangerous driving at 100 clicks with the windows that fogged up i could hardly see the car in front of me ! if there is any good out of this catastrophe that can be taken is that it was good to see people initially persevere with the shitty weather , i know it got too much in the end , but good to see a relatively good turn out of kombi's , and another is that it is always good to catch up and have a chin wag with fellow kombi members that i see once or twice a year us kombi folk are a resiliant bunch , see you all at the mudpit next year
SAFE travel home!!! SAFE travels home everyone....:umm: am definately goin next year ...sounded like lotsa fun !!!!
Bugger for those who went and got caught in the weather. Mind you the past 36 hours up here haven't been too flash with the wind but at least we haven't had rain.
You should try to find someone whose real name you don't know, you have never met and have no idea of appearance in amongst that. Everyone you ask says "huh!"never heard of her. Oh well at least we needed the rain as the back yard was becoming accessible.
Just got home, was a great experience but yes unfortunately the weather was horrible The 4PM cruise was awesome and I had a great time with everyone waving and taking photos, was difficult keeping up with the hoons but we managed with the 1500CC engine Perhaps a few of you saw the beaten up white 69 lowlite rocking L plates haha. Mandatory drama photo:
Left at 11:00am.Just kept getting wetter and wetter.Had a great cruise up on Sat morning with a great bunch, and an awesome cruise to Taree and back. Was great to talk with some new faces and catch up with old ones. As Justin said, the rain on the way home was relentless and challenging but made it home safe and sound. Will definately be going next year.cheers Adam
At 3pm this arvo we decided to pull the plug, the ground was so soggy the wind was pulling tent pegs out of the ground! Sorry for not catching up with more people this year, next year the kombi will be ready and the Tyrepower ute can stay at home!
Sorry to hear the rain get the better hope you all enjoyed it though!! I suppose if you look on the bright side, you couldve been in a tent!!
