What's the other street sign say?
I have to agree with @reelmick that it's in Melbourne
Find that intersection, muster 3 splits - kombi, panel and singlecab, and an oval window beetle. Then an early sunday morning reproduction! How cool would that be!
Corner of Glenferrie and Riversdale rd Hawthorn, Melb.
tram tracks look right but reckon the building is different
Whats with the Volkswagen Microbus - air conditioned; full view windows.
Heated in Summer, cooled in Winter....
Nice spotting. Telepoles in same position. Tram tracks the same. Traffic light post position the same.
Now just to get some buses there in the early morning to replicate the photo.
You musn't have noticed in my post that the sign says cnr. malvern and glennferie rd. and I googled that and it hasn't changed much. Mick
Here's a pic of my Kombi's service log...He's certainly been around
Welcome to the Kombi Club Janos!
Enjoy the ride..........
Me (John) in 1971, destination Perth. Got as far as Rankin Springs, it shat itself, sold it for $60 to a fellow in Griffith, hitched to Perth. Wish I still had hair!!
What's the address of the guy in Griffith. I'll pay $200 due to inflation?
I wish I remembered, I would have gone back there myself.
According to the RBA $60 in 1971 is equivalent to $655.23 (very precise). So don't let that previous poster rip anyone off.
Seems very expensive. Am I likely to get that much for it today?
Only joking. Around that time I had two others I couldn't get anything for. No-one wanted them. I sold them to Sims at Silverwater for scrap. I still cry myself to sleep every time I think about it.
As you should.
Another long night ahead!
Early 70's had 2 mates who had them (Parramatta area) - bought for similar reason - cheap and could be fitted out for alternate purpose(s)
Separate names with a comma.
