G'day all, we've owned kombis on and off for over 40 years, and even tho they can be money pits, the luv is always there !! We've had Pippa almost 12 months and enjoyed some epic runs around the coast. Funny tho, I bought the first two, both brand new for chicken feed in today's terms and spent almost 30k on one that's 40yo !! Go figure, now that's luv !!

    Welcome. :)

I know what you mean about prices. I sold my 1st Kombi which was 2 years old for $3200 which gave me the 10% deposit on my 1st home which cost $32,000!

Thx guys, we were house hunting in Wollongong when we married in '78 and we saw this old place with stone fireplace up on a headland between thiroul and Macauley's beaches for $25k and said "na, lets sell this kombi and get another one" Ha, paid $8700 !! Oh well we did keep that one for 17yrs !!

Welcome to the Kombi Club! :)

If it makes you feel any better, I leased my first Kombi new, a T3 in 1988 for $32,500 at 18% interest, so $50,00 after it was paid out 5 years later.

Luckily, this one owner is still with me, but I don't think I'll live long enough to see it be worth than I bought it for....:(

Hope to meet up whilst we are all at Old Bar 2015. ;)
