I hope you enjoyed it. What was the highlight for you?
I did enjoy the read and the history as to the saving of the factory and recovery of equipment for smokes and booze, the surprise at seeing the T3 mentioned, kombi names of Molly and Lullabelle reflected on members.
A laugh from the event on black ice and upside and parking in the pub car park and the matched, hatched & desptached scenario.
Thanks for taking the initiative and availing members of the opportunity to read.
This book is now in the National Capital...... cheers Bert.
You're welcome Grant .... Enjoy
After a slight misunderstanding, I sent the book forward via KC Express, thinking it would be quicker.
Delivered to Ash1965 on Saturday at Rouse Hill.
Collectecd by Luckyphil on Sunday (today), with some parts for Wirrah.
Currently made it as far north as Gosford and now awaiting a meeting between Luckyphil & Wirrah for delivery......
May be slower than Australia Post, but KC Express is def safer & more reliable....
So what did you think about it
Def worth a read for any Kombi lover.
Great history of both the campervan, (including other makes), and VW.
Good stories about the diversified owners of VW's the author has met, but surprising little about the author and his bus and travels.
Just my opinion, but still recommend it as a worthwhile read....... thanks Sunnyjim for sharing.
good insight about the author. perhaps his memories are a little hazy due to illicit 60s substances?
This book is now in the sleepy environs of Maitland. I'm going to read it to my Spaniels. I read "The Goblet of Fire" to a comatose rescued Cocker Spaniel many years ago and she woke up and lived for another 2 years.
The magic of the written word.
Greg, glad it finally arrived ...... Hope you enjoy it
Watching this book travel around is like watching a random kombi convey
I ordered a copy on line last night. All the talk on this thread tweaked my interest.
Reading complete (and a very easy and worthwhile read it was). Will be posted onwards Friday…
On its way to Queensland. In more important news the ’71 just passed another rego check!
Woohoo on the road again
Got it first thing this morning Greg! Looks like a good read coming up.
Paul77 - you're next
I'll bring the stubby coolers when we do the exchange.
What happened to cbus ???? Did Col read it or pass and let it go to you Paul ?
Col was meant to be before Leo so not sure what is going on anymore.
cbus wanted me to send it to Leo as he (Col) is/was in Tasmania
