Following another awesome buss stop in Griffith VWfreak and myself with our patient wives headed west on the Monday morning! Enroute to our first nights stop we were joined by tangles who bravely lead us to our campsite in the dark. Overland corner As we were getting done long overdue feed into our bellies the sound of another Kombi rang through the night air. Old man stopped by to keep ya all company.
A great cruise with you guys. Pity the pub was shut and the servo had no petrol. Sunrise over the camp at Overland Corner Shortly afterwards, we were forced to cross the mighty Murray River in the greatest way possible.
I handed the driveing duties to Narelle this afternoon on our way to ceduna with the grand idea of uploading some more pics but the internet access was bit up to scratch! But we gave collected Brian and wattie and made it safely to ceduna. I'll try and get some more pics up tonight.
We are all here in Ceduna no pics from us as don't know how to do from iPhone. All our pics cathy has chucked on the face book kombi club. What Bertie has put up here we all pretty much have the same. Every thing has been going along ok for everyone. The plan to oz night is of the grid on a cliff site some where, hope no one falls over the egge
Awesome stuff guys! Watching with interest..... Keep them Kombi's rolling westbound. (Don't forget to wind your clocks backs TWICE through the journey.)
Looks like a memorable trip already guys, loving the photos and looking forward to seeing more along route. Travel safe. Jon
Great photos Bernie. Shame to hear about the demise of Wattie and his T3 auto gearbox. Those big scooby donks do give the gearboxes hell. I am on gearbox # 3 in my syncro now (wife has a very heavy right foot - seems to break every time she is driving it - well never broke while I was driving even in the bush). Caryy on the rest of you mob to Perth without incident!
Here we offer our sincerest condolences for the demise if the auto transmission which has gone to Kombi heaven
First to faulter was the T3...bummer! However, NOT a standard issue 2.1 Wasserboxer linked to that gearbox. Those Suby upgrades may be quicker and more powerful, but go nowhere without the gearbox. :umm:
