Wasn't the boys in blue but rather the boys in brown uniforms stopped us on a road side inspection station near Blanchetown South Australia. Kombi was on the back of our truck for the last trip to Lake Illawarra to pick up the last container of house stuff for the move to Mannum SA. They didn't really care about the truck, a casual look around and under, they were most interested in the kombi, where we bought it, how much we paid etc ..... we got the same thing at every truck stop, fuel servo and even the border checks. None of them believed it was our sleeper cab, ..... but I always started out telling them I paid $1500 for it .... got them all excited, before telling them I bought it some 24 yrs ago before kombi's became hot property Margaret drove the kombi back across to Mannum and we parked up and slept in it each night, including on the way across I'll find the photo of the accommodation at Jugiong rest area T1 Terry
Saturday afternoon in Dubbo at the Bus Stop - coming back from ten pin bowling - the Sergeant said that he could hear the dak dak of the kombis a mile away and had to stop us. Kylie and Wayne, David and Lauren, Roger and Wendy, Mark and Debbie (also inside the bus - Craig and Leanne, Jennifer and Kevin, Nathan and Juzz)
