Got back a few hours ago - too much sun, but enjoyed the day out.

At newport we had 6 Kombis, one beaut Karman Californian style Beetle, plus a 65 Vespa (for a short while)

Good to see Michael pitch up (in the T3 that Melissa used to own)

Also Craig (first timer with the Kombi Club) with his immaculate '93 T3.

Also good to see Geoff, Kai, Gary and all their friends and family along

We did the cruise through to Freshwater, but instead of going on to Tania Park, we decided that the water looked too inviting, so we spent the rest of the day at Queens Cliff Beach, swimming, surfing and body boarding.

There are a lot of Sydney Kombi owners who are keen to get-together more often. Perhaps the next proposed get-together could be at a location that's suitable to C/C Newcastle and Sydney??

    Hi Dan,

Well, there will be plenty happening next year I'm sure.

Good idea of yours to go surfing somewhere, it would most likely be best if planned sometime in Jan or Feb, because it's pretty flat-out from now on until Jan with shopping, people going on holidays, school functions etc etc.

Just think of a few places and bounce a few ideas around in the meantime

Hey Kai, did you get any good pics?

My suggestion for another outing any beach car park a bit earlier before the big crowds arrive then cruise on for a picnic lunch in January 2010

    Thanks Frank for your organisation

The photo of the kombis in front of the 'winners 2001' sign is a ripper.

AHHH The cruise looked AWESOME. :( I was shattered when my sister told me that SHE was using HER kombi ... how dare her! although Kevin has been running pretty poorly lately (losing power - we think its a fuel issue - hopefully)

Definately keen for more catch ups!! Manly was just too much fun. would love to do a cruise and a camp somewhere next year!! I have put a tentative completion month of July for Julia!! Hopefully she'll be ready for Valla in August ... please, someone, hold me to that, then I can drive my own bus around!!
