I need to replace the point in my air cooled bus & Im having trouble finding them.
Ive tried bus stop, just kampers, ebay, auto pro & repco asking for contact breaker & points with no luck.
Any suggestions where I can get them?
    Thanks Nik

Just make sure you know what distributor you have in there - but if it is the air cooled T3 in your avitar, it should be electronic and not have points

Its definatley points we were out in the cold for an hour last night trying to get them as good as possible with them being worn & pitted.
How do I know which distributer I have is it written on them?
    Thanks Nik

I have no faith in the local vw dealer/service centre after taking my T4 there to get the auto fixed and they charged me to tell me same as mechanic and auto specialist told me for free and they didnt have the software to read the computer.

yes - it should have something written on it
My guess is it is a 009 of some sort

I am 99.9999% it is an aftermarket one - as all aircooled T3's came with electronic ignition

Can you take a picture ??

    What is your engine number?

I would guess the points could be Bosch GB534. But that is just a guess.

Which bus is it? The '83 or the '71? Just to make sure.

Barry I have 2 air cooled T3s and they both have points. I was under the impression that the fuel injected ones had points & the carby models had electronic ignition.
    Phil its the 83

    And the parts van

Now that Ive taken those pics the points in the spare van are almost new I might take those while I wait for a new set to keep in my spares box.

The stores books seem to go off vehicle not engine and they dont list the early T3s as having points but after talking to JK today they think the points should be the same as late 2lt bays as its the same motor.
For the price I added a set to my order I had in and I will see how they go.
