Well, there I was, driving along and a police car passed... he turned and followed, lights aflashing. My first thoughts; SPEEDING?! No. REGO!? NO. BALD TYRES?! No... err, WEAVING?! I pulled over (slightly nervous!) and he just wanted a photo as his Mum is called Dot and she loves Kombis! Well done NSW Police for a nice bit of roadside PR.

At least your car got roadside inspected and passed with flying colours. An a photo for memories what else can a kombi produce.

Those Bathurst RT Chargers are so good looking considering they just added the back end to a family hack, Went well too. Sold my hemi orange one and bought my first kombi as I had to show cause why my license should not be canceled as I had 40 points up.
When I told the officer I had got rid of the E38 and now had a auto kombi camper he said he had to cancel my license but would give me a new one with no period of suspension. Our local policeman was non other than Wayne Bennett Broncos coach. Still have that license with his signature. can still see him laughing as he listened to my excuses for every point..........Very good man

We were there for that Bert. Still remember standing at McPhillamy Park and the cheer that went up when Larry appeared and Seton didn't. As a Holden Supporter I actually felt bad for Glenn though.
Our Local Sarg always waves when we go passed in the Notch.

Good on ya Bert , worked for Chrysler then Mitsus and was an paint shop inspector when they were being built . They had to build 500 of them so the story goes before they could use them in Bathurst ,the design was good and very smart for its time and to see a car with triple webbers on it {think that was what they were }was nothing short of terrific , at Tonsley Park where they were built they sort had a bit of a test track ,nothing special, but i used to watch them put these things through their paces. Also they brought in two Holden xu1,s and put them through as well , to different times though . 20 years in that place 10 years as a foreman ,rattling chains , stinking hot ,Management one side Unions the other ,definitely a no win situation , then the down turn hit, so i took what was offered and got out.
