Sorry if its owned by a member here but I cant believe a bay is on evilbay and the seller wants $17,700 buy it now. In the remarks it says "it has rust in front pillar, usual kombi stuff". Excuse me, if there is rust there,,, whats the rest like??. $17k for a van with rust??????? Just to say this is a personal opinion not a Mod opinion. And I know its up to the owner to sell something for what he/she wants, but who in their right mind would pay that much for a rusty van!!!! Dave
We all know your after a cheap bay, I think you have your eye on this bargain and your just trying to put everyone else off.
Yep i thought the same. Couldn't stop giggling though. Fair enough evilbay is easy and you don't need to run all over the shop, but 17k for a van i got for 3 in the same condition. hmmm. Although a total resto has now put it up to 30k he he he.
maybe he paid $19k or something for it 3 months ago as a "rust free Kombi". Now the bogged up rust is coming through and he's just tryna get his money back.
I can only find an orange 75 camper on evilbay for $17700. But it doesn't say it has rust. It looks nice for the price?????
Thats the problem they look nice ,so you dont read the advert properly. This is in the comments/questions at the bottom of the advert Q: Nice looking kombi Matt. no rust or bubbling anywhere? Any idea on what sort of rust prevention has been used? What are the seals like? Any rebuild work been completed on motor at all? Is it possible to get photos of engine and from font seats to back? Any cooking facilities? Cheers 18-May-10 A: G'day, There's a little on the front left hand side of the windscreen - typical kombi stuff. Seals are good, quiet ride. Motor has had plenty of work done on it, Rebuild at 140,00kms. Choose not to cook where I sleep, so just the fridge and bed. Can fwd some more shots if you would like. Dave
Ah. I am on my iPhone and i can't see the questions and answers. I'll have to jump on laptop to sus it out.
I know I'll probably get smashed for this but...... oh well...... I LOOOOVE Kombi's just as much as the next person but I think most kombi's are overpriced anyway. I don't believe they are as "rare" as people make them out to be. I know splits are a different story (as well as ute's) but the bay's in my opinion are generally well overpriced and most sellers think they are selling rocking horse s&%t!! Search "Kombi" on ebay and about 20 or so always come up, I have been looking at other cars on ebay (I wont say what type cause everyone will laugh) but only 3 or 4 of those pop up and their sellers dont advertise them using the words unique and rare etc
I do agree with you on that one, bays certainly are not rare and do seem pricey but as with almost everything some cars are just more expensive than others. Sometimes you pay for a name, sometimes you pay for workmanship but most of the time it just comes down to what the market is willing to pay. I don't understand it but I accept it. Just like with house prices. that being said tho, 17k for a kombi with rust, that's not great. (see Dave, I'm helping you out, you can put a bid on now, I don't think anyone is interested)
Go on, admit it Marcus - you are looking at Suzuki Mighty Boys aren't you? Just joking with you.
Gone off bays now,,too expensive. Just no one bid on any Rovers!!!! To be honest I wouldn't buy any car from evilbay, if it's any good others know of it already and when it comes up for sale it's sold before it's advertised Dave
Funny...... Apart from cutlery and crockery, the only personal effects are a half bottle of wild turkey and a straw cowboy hat........... P.S. I don't know why I find that quite funny. I just do.
Don't agree Dave, but my golden rules is don't pay anymore than you can afford to loose and expect to get the occassional dog. We have a white bay listed at the moment, it needs just too much work for us to be bothered with. Someone who has the skills to do the work themselves will be happy with the purchase. Our really good ebay finds have come from country places, you can be really lucky. Waiting on delivery of another one right now.......it will be interesting to see if it's any good when it arrives.
