What have others used to protect the stainless steel on the back of side mirrors from pitting, I have just bought some new ones and don't want them to end up getting pitted and rust starting like the old ones (which were new 5 years ago)

I use AutoSol polish - available at any Supercheap/Repco/Autobarn etc. and then follow up with a good wax.
Never had an issue with the stainless.

    (So, ex-Sheriff hey....? :p)

    Cheers,
    Mark

    Are they original or aftermarket?

    Is your Kombi garaged?

If aftermarket and lives uncovered you are fighting a losing battle.

Best answer is to get them re-chromed.

Cheapest answer is Autosol once a month and replacement every 5 years

I use chrome polish from Mothers polishers, goes on like a normal wax and wipes of very easily, I have used Autosol for cleaning purposes and chrome polish for protecting.
I was told by a mothers representative that the chrome polish can also be used on glass. Which it was labeled for both uses but know it is only labeled for chrome.
