Good stuff Mel - glad to hear that you made it back safely.

I have a spare 15" wheel you can have gratis - tyre is a bit ordinary but might get you out of trouble!

I've always said "Splitty's make you earn the right to own them..." & it sounds like yours is making you earn it too :)

Woot woot! She looks lovely. I'm so happy for you both, and I agree with Lorraine - I reckon you'll be fighting over who gets to drive this baby each day!! :)

It's actually quite tidy in the flesh too...:)

I had a good crawl all over it, inside and out, and it's a very nice sound 62.

I'm no splitty expert, but I would be more than happy to have a bus of that resto quality....

    Well done guys!

Now that explains the letting go of the T4, well done to you both. Now you have a few months up your sleeve to get it all ready for Valla and Old Bar

well done on the acquisition, but do you realise what you have done to the towie?
2 tows in one day and a souvenir pull back split, you have now infected him with the incredible invasive T2 virus!
He will have a kombi within the year for sure.

I dont think so ;) - he said he had driven a beetle once before and that scared him off driving a VW aircooled ever again - LOL. That was scary for me driving it up onto the tray at such an angle and then driving it back off!!! I hope I never have to do that again.

Well done Melissa. Amazing what VW fans will do and still laugh about it later. Most people would give up and sell the damn thing on, but that is like selling one of your children, even after just a couple of hours...

I loved the 62 panel we had but she didnt fit our needs. Not to say we arent on the look out for something special to add to the "fleet". Time will tell.

Good luck with the mechanicals. Hope to see it in the flesh soon.

Thanks Royce - I didnt get your PM till I got back.
Its funny how things happen for the reasons they do -
IF I had gone back along the Hume - I would have lost gears no where near the VW mechanic at Wonthaggi.

It seems a few members are acquiring "fleets" of dubs (which comes from the old English for a ship, and is related to the word float) .... another meaning of the word "fleet", though, is "swift, nimble or fast"! :wtf:

Your 62 does look pretty special though Melissa - I am looking forward to checking it out in Mt Gambier! ;)

Woz!! There is no way I am driving that to Mt Gambier LOL
We will be taking the bay.
I saw something that I was too slow to grab a photo of on our trip - it was Pirate Mini Golf - you probably already know about it - that would make a great Kombi Club Cruise for the Melbourne members ;)
