Looks like a fantastic turn out, sorry I had to miss it due to the Sydney business trip...I did however manage to slip in a bit of KC socialising catching up with Don and Jono Great pics....keep them coming.

twas a good day (although trying to get up the range back to Toowoomba on one cylinder with smoke pouring out the back wasnt fun)
Sounds like a good time was had,i spent the day at work.I managed to get some overtime which will help get Bess back on the road. I'd so drive this beetle i absolutely love the signage. Is this your Pat? I dont recall seeing the signage on it at Klubfest.
I'm assuming that this is the table of knowledge.:umm: Looks like it was a great day & the weather was very kind to you.
Was a great day. Weather was awesome!! Met a few people and now can put not only names to faces but cars as well!! Would have liked to chat with a few more people but my wife is quite ill atm so had to head home. Max had a great day too and loved all the attention so much he slept between the front seat all the way home. didn't even wake going across the bridge with all the bumps!!(not a lot of fun in low bus)
LITLL, Thanks for coming too...nice to catch up with you Hope your Mrs is feeling better now & Max is just a adorable little puppy
My family had a great time at Clontarf. The kids had a ball playing on the beach, in the playground and in the kombi. So much so that they didn't want to leave. I enjoyed catching up with folks yesterday. I also met a bunch of new people (and promptly fogot their names!) Once again I somehow failed to introduce myself to a lot of KC members that I really should have met by now! Ooops, sorry. I managed to come away with another mild dose of Bay Window Envy. I'm hoping the symptoms will pass in a few days.
Once again, how good was the KC event at Pelican Park? The weather was superb, there were a lot of Kombis (and KC members, of course!) in attendance, and sounds like there were a few good Kombi Convoys to Clontarf also. It looks like we're onto a winner with that location, as it's proven to be a hit on two occasions with both the Sunny Coast and Gold Coast/Northern NSW KC'ers, as well as the local Brisbanites. Nice! Firstly, thank-you Kyra for putting forward the notion and subsequently organising the day. Give yourself a small pat on the back, my dear. I spent Saturday afternoon/evening up at Glen & KB's after doing some exhaust repairs to Little Debbie, so I was able to Convoy down with the Sunny Coast mob. That pretty much set the day up nicely. It was then great being able to catch up with the KC family (and their respective Kombis) again - this included the well-seasoned members, the newbies and even an unexpected pleasant surprise from some southern counterparts. I think between Mel and myself, about two photos were taken before my camera went flat. We figured there were enough other people snapping pics anyway. One such person was a non-KC member John. After snapping a few shot of our beasties, he has since joined up to the Kombi Club, and posted this thread. He also has a direct link to his flickr account for anyone that wishes to have a squiz at said photos. Nice one John! Thanks for getting into the Kombi spirit, mate. Oh, and as for the table of knowledge... Well, let's just see how Craig's video goes at capturing that 'knowledge'! I don't think that there was any handy advice that you could safely take to the bank, put it that way... :umm: Actually, it'll be very interesting to see what Craig ends up with out of his day's filming. Once again, thanks all for a wonderful day. Here's to our next gathering. Julian.
tink would like to say thanks to everyone for the lovely welcome and especially the sunny coast members that we convoyed down with (especially her maiden run, anything could of happened but she run well, TOP SPEED 90 downhill!!!) great to see the KC members are all so warm, and to Judy who welcomed me with open arms, you are a big sweetie, thanks!
At Last!!!! I think between Mel and myself, about two photos were taken before my camera went flat. We figured there were enough other people snapping pics anyway. Julian.[/QUOTE] Well for being a slack arse with your photography Meghan has well and truely made up for you I suggest you make a cup of coffee before you open this link as she was very snap happy and tried to get a pic or two of everyone's ride. http://picasaweb.google.com/arkemup/KombiSRockTheCliffe?authkey=Gv1sRgCNSSg9Kipe_SQQ# Happy viewing!
