Karen and I (Rob) were invited to stanthorpe 'apple and grape festival' by Karens sister Heidi who lives there. We have visited before so lets go a different way so down the coast road coast.PNG

turned west at Bangalow and joined the Bruxner highway in time for a torrential rainstorm at Casino.

Stopped for a cuppa just past Tabulam then turned south down 'Long Gully' road just before Drake...man that road just went down and down with precipitous dropoffs to the left.

Eventually got to the 'Rocky River' and followed the track upstream. The river was fenced most off the way but we turned onto a grassy paddock when the fenced stopped and came out onto beautiful granite slabs metres from the river rockpools

it looked like more showers for the night so erected my latest aquisition...a 3x3 metres gazebo from aldis...the kombi fits neatly under it and gives me a sheltered porch...heheh..sorry the pic is in the dark but you get the idea how cozy it was...

next morning after a swim we had to leave rocky river...

and suddenly there was all this pedestian traffic

then it was up the range to Tenterfield...what goes down must come up..

And so to Stanthorpe and family and festival...a wonderful four day weekend kombi style!
