Moi?? I’m just the innocent bystander of an action made by a clueless luddite. o_O

But apparently, I even managed to sort it, with Wirrah’s very helpful advice. ;)

If I ever do happen to want “stir the pot” here, I’d like to know that I have a grip on the handle......

In this totally unintentional case, I really had no idea.

For the last few weeks my Mac Pro has shown a new warning of "not secure website". Occurs with Safari or Google/Chrome.Fortunately no issues other than the warning (so far !!!!)

No one knew why it was happening  ...... that's why Roy engaged Prophecy Enterprises aka prOphet to #1 upgrade the forum software a few years back :)and #2 to keep it functioning smoothly :D & #3 in instances such as this resolve it  ..... no blame cast on anyone

Even though the forum has had SSL enabled the old http link is still active. What can happen is that you may accidentally switch between the two. (e.g. if you haven't changed a bookmark or are following another forum link). If you are logged on to the https version then accidentally get into the http version it may show you not logged in (or the other way around). Webkit browsers (Safari & Chrome - including windows) are doing this to different degrees. Edge on Windows 10 does not appear to. It maintains my login when switching between the two versions. Have no idea about firefox or IE.

Anyways... I'm not saying that's the issue but having experienced the same problem here that's what I identified after preparing dinner for seven Cocker Spaniels.

Maybe 'stop the remember' & it'll stop making the same error:D. If you 'turn it off' & then refresh to a new bookmark ( & login) then you can do 'remember me ' again.
    Cheers

So just tried to go in through Microsoft Edge on the new computer - search and open KC Home Page - go to Log In and all ok BUT icon displayed saying your connection to this website isn't encrypted

Have to sign in again on each visit even with remember me box ticked.

Signing in via Chrome - comes up I have to sign in even though previous visits Stay Logged In box is checked - on sign in comes up with Not Secure but then will change to Secure ...... not sure what's happening

May be those things in the oven are dropping crumbs on it and need clearing :D:p:eek:

This is because the forum is still accepting http connections and the search would have pulled in the http version rather than the more recent https version. If you are concerned, bookmark the forum as
