Mike and Mal did back in the day.....
Id like to no what is CX-3 is ?
Isn't CX-3 a fuel additive that they put in the fuel to claim that made there fuel better. What type of additive?(or chemical) Could open up another question
It's probably M4 H2O.
For what it is worth, I just checked that Leyland Brothers rego on my Services NSW app.
It still attached to a 1976 Orange Volkswagen Mobile home with rego expiry date 9-1-18.
So how about that!
It's still going!
Maybe you all knew that and I just found out.
I wonder if the person that owns it knows its history. Anyone on here?
Mostly it all comes out of the one tankfarm down this way..... United excepted....
Don't Australia get most of it's petrol from Singapore refinery know.We flog of the oil from down your way over seas.?
There are still operating refineries in QLD, VIC and WA which provide the various brands in their local markets along with some imports, and the other states import fuel from Asia. All fuels meet Australian standards so there are no good or bad fuel brands but different brands may have different additives. Contaminated fuel is normally the result of issues at particular service stations, for example where a tank or pipe has a leak or something rather than a problem with a certain brand of fuel.
It just seems to be a common thing with Caltex.
Must be the CX3, just ask the Leyland Bros
Must have been the CX3 that kept it going so good.
And with the rego plate HPY ...... HIPPY came straight to mind
Fuel brand selection back then was so much more .... Golden Fleece, Neptune for a couple and Mobil had the Pegasus (or was that some other brand insignia), BP was what I mainly used ...... more selection
Let's not forget Amoco,
".. final filtered Amoco, in your machine....."
All I know is “Oils Ain't Oils” !
ITS NICE GOING?
Maybe some of this old stuff will do? golden fleece
mobile gas for the beetle....
filling her up on roller skates...classic.
