    Glad you had the time....;)

So many of my threads & posts, make even less sense than when I first posted them, with the images removed by PB. :(

Haven't done much on this thread for a while but I have just replaced the windscreen with a nice new clean, un-cracked or chipped clear piece of glass.

New window seal too - none of that chrome strip crap either - way too hard..

Not easy to get done at the moment around my way as we recently had a hail storm and it broke quite a few windscreens - plus the Christmas shut down didnt help either.

Windscreens O'Brien came good where others couldn't:

    Prepped, ready and waiting:

Looks awesome Scott. Such a clean looking T3 :)

I’m thinking of going down the same track as you in regards to removing the chrome strip when I get new rubbers. It makes replacing them a much easier task and is also cheaper. You also don’t have to worry about the chrome strips going discoloured again.

Wayne, that Monkey has been swinging off the rear vision mirror since i got the van - not convinced its overly lucky though.

Brendan, yeah the chrome strips really suck - Im not a fan - plus they look cleaner without - un-required bling!

    Yes Grant,

Snowy will be for sale as soon as I get my auto version sorted.

Not a fan of autos but with my family situation, it seems my manual toy time has run out - still have the manual syncro though - cant ever sell that!

Pfft......Making Caravelles look like Transporters. o_O

The Factory “bling” chrome around the windows, bumper bars, A pillar gutter trims, etc, was the obvious visual difference VW did, to define between the two.

That, and the two tone paint job. ;)

    But each to their own........:p

Hey Grant - you know a Caravelle got lots more than just that:

    Full interior sound proofing,

Full headliner and deluxe side trims plus a map pocket for the driver.

GL got power steering standard as well as the hard wearing and luxury 7 velour seating all with arm rests plus the famous captains chairs and central locking (some still work and some not).

    Carpet throughout.

Jail bars to the tailgate plus demister for the tailgate and rear wiper.

Exterior had the bling trims around the windows - pffft!

Plus the chrome A Pillar trims (They are almost all now dead and you cant get new ones with the curved factory base)

They had slightly lower suspension and the chrome bumpers with the rubber bumper strips.

I think that missing one very minor useless item wont make them lose their identity :D

I trust you haven’t lost your sense of humour Scott, with the result? o_O

It does look great! :) (Even without the chrome window trim finishing touches. :p)

I know you are shit stirring me Grant. You have been doing that for years and I thoroughly enjoy it - especially when we get massively off track from the original thread.

Just wanted to make you feel like you wasted all that effort putting the bling around the windows - like a Rap Star! :p
