Extending the arm of the KC community, if you happen to pass the National Capital on your travels - there is free camping at "Motel Grantus". (Choice of powered ensuite undercover carport site with free wifi, or double bed in spare room.)

Good reviews apparently, from previous KC members, but just need at least 24 hours notice (or more the better), with any diet requirements and favourites, to allow us to stock the fridge with correct food and beverages. ;)

Thankyou so much for your awesome invitation unfortunately (for us) we have already booked most of our trip & will be staying at Lake Hume for 2 nights & then across to Lake Boga & on down to the Great Ocean Road & beyond. BUT we may seek you out, if the offer is still available in October while the Floriade is on, would much rather stay with a KC member if possible (Phil is rather impressed with the offer of under cover parking  ) Thanks again for your offer
    cheers Deb & Phil

Lake Hume is pretty close to us... we are in Walwa in the Upper Murray area. If we are here and not off on our own kombi safari we can offer a roof for the kombi ... or a nice grassy park.... and a shower, toilet etc. Feel free to PM me for the address or with your dates. We'd love some visitors!

Thanks heaps for your offer we have already booked at the Lake Hume Village 16th & 17th of Jan. How long drive time from there to you? Perhaps we can meet up? Pretty sure we camped next to you at Forbes? Cheers

Mystery Bay is a must. It's a council camping ground
(15 acres) and not free but cheap as. Right on the ocean and hardly any people outside of Xmas. We go there every year in Feb. We're there in the fist week this year but in a rented house as the kombi is in bits:(

Its a nice drive out our way...about 1.5hrs up the "Great River Road", can do a nice loop drive via Corryong and take in views of the Main Range on the way. Yes we were neighbours at Forbes! Keep us posted on your dates. Not 100% what our movements will be this year, haven't even been able to commit yet to the Bus Stop. ...but if we are here would be great to meet up.

Very cool we arrive Lake Hume Monday arvo of the 16th & leave Wednesday morning 18th. eek that's next week! lol We have all day Tuesday, let us know if you'll be home & we'll cruise out the drive sounds lovely. I have posted a thread with our itinerary under Kombi stories. Hope we catch up. As for BusStop you might score a site from a cancellation but I think we are at sharing sites now just waiting to hear back from park cheers
