Hi Mike, was wondering what year is my micro? The guy I bought it off said it was a 63 but a few things don't add up, its got bullets up front and what looks to be round brake lights out back (butchered panel work). Also it has a fuel gauge hole on the dash which I think has been drilled in later. Now I did found these numbers in the engine bay. 843140 T/P 22 1856 950. From under layers the paint it looks like a 2 tone white upper and light green lower.

    cheers,
    Niko.

If the chassis number is 843140 (on the right hand side of the engine bay) then you should have an October 1961 model.

    Yep Roo's right

On the front doors where the hinge is there should be a stamped circle with a date in it that is production date, if yours is 10/61 it was made in Oct 61 for the 62 model, check both doors in case one has been replaced, mine is 10/62, makes mine 63 model

    Mitch,

Its an early May 1956 bus, very very nice. Lucky man.
Well worth the effort to save it, have a good look around the site where you found it and try to find anything that may be missing...maybe the rear bar.

It's a little gem and if you get bored or want to sell it on I'll put my hand up 1st please.

    Best

    Ian

    Thanks for the info Ian.

There were a few bits and pieces laying around. No rear bar spotted though :(

Any chance you can explain to me which numbers mean what?

    Thanks

    Mitch

Hey Bagman, should be an early Sept 1960 build which makes it a 61 model.

Thanks Roo have passed on info to owner - here is an inside shot - typical of a old ''barn find'' - note that Gilford jug on the drivers side with the lid intact would also be worth some money - looks like we put speaker holes in cards back then too - interior comes complete with "Indoor plants" what more can you ask for:lol:

They are not speaker holes in the door cards - it would have had a pocket in there

Hi Burnsy - sounds like some of the letters have perhaps faded away? - try putting the the following before the K ''OOHC'' then reverse the letters :) - Welcome aboard i am sure someone will here will solve the mystery.
