What about adding the extra roof window at the back but deleting the one above the cab door - this would line up with the rear side windows and would look better than an original Samba I reckon.

It’s your Kombi.......do what you want with it, and make it to your liking. ;)

I think the grafted samba roof will be a real head turner, and looks awesome. :)

You’re never going to try and palm it off as a factory original.......so what does it matter what the purists think?

I like the front windows. As a gentleman of the taller variety it is hard to see traffic lights. This would help.

Maybe you could move the sunroof forward and stick your head out while driving.

 The first cut is the hardest:eek: but the most pleasing as the rest becomes easier o_Oo_O Are you trying to get it to look symmetrical balanced ? As it would with the extra window in roof to match the side windows :D.Then do you question the size of the sliding roof in relation to windows ;). Either way it would look pleasing to see, different to look at. Shore turn heads:cool:

Pics of the Skylights and sunroof rails roughed in.
I think I am too late to order and receive the extra skylight set, I'll have to call Grumpy's tomorrow. I am still 50:50 whether i go ahead with 25 windows but appreciate the comments and suggestions. berg.

Looking at the various pictures of 4 windows per side or even the 2up front (driver and passenger would fry  having had a car with a sun/moon roof) I'm going with the 3 windows also :D

Berg as an owner of a 15 window as you you will appreciate that cleaning all that glass is a bitch. SO more window would be a bad thing. Only joking go for it.

I know it looks like I am posting the same pictures, but No we have significant progress.
Inside and outside window panels, sunroof front, rear and side rails all primered, welded and solid. With just the front skylights, the rear roof rust repair and belly pans to go, before paint. IMG_9975.jpg IMG_9979.jpg IMG_9986.jpg IMG_9987.jpg

However my project has been put on the back burner for a week, as someone is getting married and needs their bus finished.

all the buses in the shop are awaiting Klassic fab panels. I believe some have waited 5 months. A large shipment is on the water, so hopefully the anxious owners can get some progress happening, but not before the new samba is complete :)
