Has anyone done the full swap out of the old syncro drive train for the complete suby package from subaru gears?? I'm looking seriously at ditching the vw box and front diff in favour of the suby one when i replace my 2.1 wasserboxer with the ej22.

ps: anyone wanna buy my spares?

    cheers
    Dusty

No "G" gear. I don't think that the setup is successful on a syncro and Subaru boxes are crap anyway. (I have one).

I am not sure but I think it is electronic and doubtful that you could get it work. You don't normally use a Subaru diff in the front.

I think it would be much easier to get the 2.2 Subaru engine and get you syncro box reconditioned by someone that knows what they are doing and it would last a long time.

    Syncro27 and Luckyphil like this.

    Hi Phil,
I have a Subragears box, has been shifting well for over a year., however now cannot get a gear. Have clutch & the shifter stick moves well. Sounds like a gearbox problem. I'm wondering if there is a fault in these converted boxes?
