Too bad you can't get them in Australia. I've been trying for years without success so I will have to go aftermarket.

    Completely agree Grant.

I have seen some seriously dodgy suby conversions and I am amazed they can even get over a speed hump without taking out the sump and exhaust. Even saw one like that in a syncro with a 6 cyl engine which would barely get over a cats eye on the road.

Mine are just plastic. I am disappointed in the off road ability of the Forester.

I now agree. The job done was good as it stood. But the exhaust and sump is not what I envisaged. The timing belt, water pump and better head gaskets were done. Not sure rocker cover seals protecting spark plug area were done considering it is weakness.

No, V8 Holdens and Valiants cop cars. But when you introduce footy ovals, creeks, footpaths, median strips, fire trails, etc how can they catch you. In my stoner days we'd thro spud n onions at kids in fancy V8s and hot EHs just so we could lose them. I never got caught.

Like the John Cleese's newt, I got better.

I had a friend who I caught up with a few years ago. He said he left my orbit because I was going to kill him in some outrageous stunt. I flew a beetle higher than his head as I passed him on one jump I did. He said I was 8' off the ground. I smashed the exhaust as I landed. Fortunately there was beetle sitting in a farmyard. We got that on and continued our marauding ways.

Mate, it was the 70s, I spent my money on dope and not much else.

    I'd loved that bug.

This reads like a Zap Comics Adventures of the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers. There they wuz: the 3 of them, Fat Freddie, Freewheelin' Franklin & another bloke, on the Bob Hope, crammed into the front of a splittie, on the run from the Law & going around corners on their door handles - is any of this familiar?

Google them up; still lotsa' fun to read, even if one's head is not in an altered state (these days).

We owe a lot to Crumb, Gilbert Sheldon et al for the liturature of the counter culture. The stoned cat? I have often wondered if Freddie's methods worked in getting a mog to eat it's breakfast.
Capt Goodvibes - a one dimensional bogan, said many. Not a patch on the character of Wonder Warthog . Just an opinion, though.

Robert's brother's (Charles) drawings were even weirder.

Too right! One thing was leading to the next in the wierd & creepy comic books. 'Skull Comics' comes to mind - the Freak Bros & Warthog were very tame by comparison to the content in this piece of work.
