It wasn't a problem when Muller & Muller was a VW dealer.

I have seen Scooby vehicles for sale with well over 500,000kms still running well (according to Owners).

As with anything maintenance is the key.

You treat any engine like shit and they will die an early death.

Yep, Subarus love regular oil changes.
Apparently Mazda turbo diesels don't last either - 560,000km and counting.

I've driven a few with good conversions and they are nice. But unless you work on them yourself, Frankenstein cars are an expensive PITA. Most conversions are done very rough.

Yes, that's a good one. Ben Croft's was the best and Watties is a good one. You really have to do a lot of research to do it properly.

And have deep pockets. Im very happy with my slightly enhanced stock 2.1 van and also happy with the stock 2.1 in the DOKA which has a well serviced 300k klm motor that is running great.

I’m very happy with my mechanic, and know he wouldn’t work on my T3’s if I changed it to Subaru……… he’s a VW specialist.

I'm now regularly amazed how well my 2.1 MV motor is going. Not very economical as its auto but great power and very smooth. A good well sealed exhaust has made a big difference.

I use way less litres per 100km feeding it BP Ultimate 98, than if I use Caltex / Ampol Vortex 98.

Ive actually tried that too Grant from a recommendation by a Subaru specialist mechanic. Made no difference at all in my case unfortunately.

AMC Heads have good castings but the valves are not the best from the factory. If they upgrade the valves they should be a really good head product.
