    In November last year the previous owner of my T3 bus had the Speedshop stainless steel Exhaust fitted. Because of the lack of space a shortened oil filter was installed, Ryco Z661. On my T3 Doka I have only every had MANN oil filters used...

    I was wondering if the W712/52 MANN oil filter can be used in place of the Ryco Z661, on my next service... any advice guys?
    Those who also have the Speedshop exhaust... what oil filter do you guys use?

    Ryco list the W712/52 as a direct replacement for the Z661.

    That is not the correct filter for a T3.

    Should be a MANN W719/12

    The Ryco is a Z63 (which I would not use)

    That is the stock filter
    Speedshop exhaust doesnt allow stock - you need a shortened (Polo) filter

    I believe it is a Polo filter. Which brand, I don’t know. I’d have to crawl under my bus, or make a call to my mechanic.

    It’s actually a way better design than the Go Westy offering, and although a different tune, I’m quite happy with it.

    I’m not sure if the shorter filter would go the distance of the VW specified 15,000km service intervals, but as it gets replaced every 5,000kms, I doubt it will create any issues.

    @syncro

    the Mann 713/19 has the same valve pressure setting. See link above.
    Brickwerks is generally very good in the products they sell and recommend.
    Not all aftermarket designs was completed by muppets.

    Perhaps we need to get back to WHY the John & Grant are using a non standard filter & that is because the standard length filter will not fit with the exhaust. So why the discussion? Change it every 5k klms like a lot of us do and no problems.

    And it’s not even “illegal”……like some window tints!

    You may want to ring Tooley's imports as well (02) 9476 2888. See what price they will give you buying X amount. plus postage.
