    My syncro has been nothing more than a lifted 2wd sonce I bought it anyway. Thats the way I would go from my experience with mine

    A 2wd with a LSD will go most places a Syncro without lockers can go.

    I keep looking at mine now and think I need some bigger standard wheels and a bit of a raise. Not sure what I was thinking with lowered and alloys must have been young lol

    Mainly caused by owners or mechanics.

    Odd tyres, tight u-turns, GL5 oil etc

    Or no oil changes at all for VW's "filled for life" mentality... The latest 094 pulled down showed very ordinary oil leftovers...

    Only 1st and 2nd have the moly syncros... others all brass.. I can understand the GL5 from the 1970's... was harsh.. Technology has kept up.

    I could see it...was toast...I could see it...was toasted...There was no fresh oil in that trannie... and if i recollect..level was low too...critical parts missed being lubricated and cooled..

    Not according to Mobil lubrication engineers. It's the same for the gearboxes in Porsche Cup cars.

    dare I say subragears lol
    My wife thinks the petrol fills itself. we have long discussions on tyre pressures. I will have to ask her when she is next going to change the gear oil. windscreen water be a start lol

    Porsche cup cars never see the light of day after 3 races and a trans pulldown everytime.. They run different technology.. in fact.. not the same.. they run dog boxes..no synchro rings.....sorry.. I call bullshit..
