I have never heard of a problem with leaking cylinders except with people not using good brake fluid or changing it.

As far as the automatic adjusters go they have a 99% failure rate. As far as I can remember all Volkswagen automatic adjusters are crap.

Holden ones never worked, and Mazda ones also failed, in fact most manufacturers supplying "automatic adjusters" for drum brakes, along with VW used the same technology, and none of them worked.....;)

I'd also be keen to upgrade the brakes on my T3. I'll try to get in touch with him tomorrow.

When I replaced my drum brakes with the T4 kit both my rear wheel cylinders were leaking - don't need to worry about that in my syncro any more.

Bog standard T4 rotors wit T4 Lucas calipers. Besides the adapter plates its all either T3 (Hubs) or T4 Rotors & Calipers

Mechanic bought mine but the calipers were from a 1994 so the rear rotor from that modle should be ok

I'll find the part number and post it back on here,
Makes it easier then for all those who come along later.
A full parts list would be ideal

I got my calipers for $60 and put a kit through them and painted them black, look new now :) Rotors & pads were new.

If you are buying new you will need to make sure you have the carriers too.
Left and right are the same

Tons of T4's being parted around the place so sourcing the complete calipers should be cheap & easy.

    Rotors at Brookers
    $65 each
Allan at Brookers also showed me the second hidden seal inside the piston of the Lucas caliper.
I brought a full service kit from him for the rear calipers I brought last year. I also brought rotors from him also.

Looking for a T4 rear brake pad to get me home to Sunshine Coast.
I'm at Gosford/ The Entrance and have worn through a pad, down to steel.
Bad planning, 8000K in past month, I knew they were worn but other things became a priority.
Recommendations for places to buy in Gosford also welcome.
The disc is scored now so will also need a new disc before new pads go in.
    Thanks
    Neil
