We went to the Tamworth Music Festival and didnt bother looking for accomodation. Behind the beautiful Karen is the "official tents" $200/night or something ridiculous. Directly across the road is a lush bit of pine scrub with pine needle floor...this was our home for four days for no cost. The deliciously cool Peel river is 100 meters away under the pedestrian bridge to all the events. Coles is right there and we cooked our meals in the kombi but enjoyed a coldie or two(10) at the post office pub. Fantastic...planning to go back next year.

The joys of a tin tent.
Sounds good except for the music. Have reservations about both types. Country and Western!

They claimed that certain rock songs played backward (on vinyl) had satanic verses buried in them....o_O

If you play Country & Western records backwards............ your wife comes back to you, your dog is alive, and your truck is fixed! :p

Nice.......yup, see it all the time when we’re on the road.
Some folks just don’t, and never will, know what’s right under their noses.....;)
Let’s just keep it a secret shall we...........?
    Cheers,
    Mark

Actually the music was very enjoyable...both the concerts and the buskers on the streets...the old days of slim dusty and reg lindsay are gone...i really enjoyed it but most of all i enjoyed the drive down from the gold coast and back...being self contained is an awesome thing in these times...

Yeah. Bit of a road trip with a reason to go somewhere is always good.

So I assume the sign on the tree at the far left of your second pic, was not replicated with another similar, placed directly across the road then?
